DRIVING YOUR OWN VEHICLE you will need:- * AN INTERNATIONAL DRIVING PERMIT (IDP) in FRANCE and SPAIN if you ONLY have a paper license. In SPAIN an IDP is not required for under 6 month stays. * A GREEN CARD from your insurer ....it can take 6+weeks * UK sticker on the rear of vehicle
HIRING A CAR according to the UK GOV the only thing required is an IDP ....IF you ONLY posses a paper license. Some hire companies ask to see evidence of endorsements. Go to this site www.gov.uk/view-driving-liscence and print off your page a couple of days before your trip

Information for unvaccinated and children
You’re considered fully vaccinated for travel purposes if aged 18yrs and over and
1. you received a COVID-19 vaccine booster
2 you received the second dose of a two-dose vaccine (Pfizer, Moderna, AstraZenica) at least a week ago, but no more than nine months ago.
3. you received a single-dose vaccine (Johnson & Johnson) at least 28 days ago, but no more than nine months ago.
4. you received the first dose of vaccination at least a week before travel AND you have previously had COVID-19 (at least 11 days ago and within the last 6 months).
Important: If you had your full vaccine course 9 months ago or more AND you haven’t had a COVID-19 vaccine booster, you must follow the rules for unvaccinated passengers to enter France.
NOT VACCINATED OR DO NOT COMPLY WITH THE ABOVE RULES You need ONE of the following three certificates to be checked before departure:
