Year-round, Périgueux's tourist office offers organized walking tours of the city,  each lasting 

 around 2 hours. They are a worthwhile means of exploring the historical and architectural 

nuances of Périgueux. 

The cost is 5€ ($6.50) for adults, 3.80€ ($4.95) for students, and free for children under 12. 

TOUR TIMES

Between mid-September and mid-June, tours run Monday to Saturday at 2:30pm

 During high season, from mid-June to mid-September, tours are given every Monday to Saturday 

Gallo-Roman tours  10:30am 

medieval tours  2:30 and 4pm 

Sunday tour  at 3pm, covering whatever venues that are most demanded by the participants. 

 

The tourist office also arranges a limited number of bike tours of the city and its environs. 

Priced at 5€ ($6.50) per person, adult or child, and lasting between 90 and 120 minutes, they are 

scheduled during June, July, and August every Tuesday at 10am; and during September, 

October, and November every Saturday at 3pm.

Those who enjoy outdoor marketplaces should head for the market between Place du Codert 

and Place de la Clautre, Wednesday and Saturday from 8am to around 1pm. 

Other markets, especially those focusing on used and new clothing, housewares, and 

secondhand furniture,  are on Wednesday from noon to around 5pm in 

Place Francheville and Place Bugeaud.
